When it all began
" I'll never have a horse on my farm". Famous last words of 1994, It all started when I was asked for grazing for 3 horse
in 1994, reluctantly I agreed then slow but sure more horses arrived and eventually I put 8 stables in and from there
the livery grew with a further expansion in 2000, after that the horses took over and the cattle left, the rest as they say
is history.
Two of the very first horse to come to stay at Broad Oak Farm, there were no stables even built here then !!!!!!!!!!
Today
Dirks Yard offers DIY stable/grazing on up to 90 acres with some 60 stables a large floodlit menage with jumps, tack
rooms and storage space, ample car parking and a tea room overlooking the menage, for someone who once would never have a
horse on his farm its quite an achievement !
